The New Hamburg Lioness’ Welcome Home Tour was a resounding success, says Lioness Joan Bilinsky of the May 24 event that welcomed close to 300 visitors on a tour of six New Hamburg homes.
The homes on the tour ranged from a heritage home with a modern twist to a quaint, gothic-style home, some within walking distance of each other. Many took advantage of the clear skies and warm temperatures to wander through town and have lunch while on the tour. St. George’s Anglican Church offered a sandwich and soup lunch that reached capacity, says Bilinsky. “It’s great to see a fundraiser work off another fundraiser,” she says.
The Welcome Home Tour, which raised $6,300, marked another successful Lioness fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre and the grassroots drug awareness group Community Link Empowered Against Narcotics (CLEAN).
