Family Category – (1 or 2 adults & children from the same family)
Children’s Group – (children under 14) – 2 or more children in a group
Adult – (one or more adults) – 14 years and over
Elite group – (for the professional)
V.I.P Group – (emergency workers, civil servants, police workers,
Politicians & businesses, non-profit organizations.)

You must take your house on Thursday night after awards ceremony
Winning entries will be displayed in businesses with your permission and you will be responsible to get your house to the business assigned.

“SANTA’S WORKSHOP”
RULES AND GUIDELINES
Listed below are the judge’s guidelines and a sample of the score cards they follow.
We hope this helps you with your house building this year. Thank you for taking an interest in this yearly event.
The base supporting the house must be no larger than 18” X 18” in total (including any fencing etc.)
Each house must be free standing.
Only one entry per group or family.
All entries must be made of gingerbread. Store bought gingerbread is allowed.
All decorations must be made of edible materials.
Each house must have a theme name. (Christmas Eve, The Eve’s, Mrs. Claus Helping etc.)
A contest only works with participants . . .
Soundness of Structure: Is it falling apart? Is the roof caving in?
Attention to Detail: How were the features designed? Were colors used in a significant and/or purposeful way? How close does it meet the original house’s detail and dimensions?
Use of Decorations: What did they use to decorate? Were those things used effectively? Were they unique or innovative?
Uniqueness: Does the entry stand out as unique from the others?
Theme and/or Name of House: How creative is the theme to the entry? Was the name of the structure effectively integrated into its design?
Use of Inedible Decorations: Are there any inedible decorations? How many?
Use of Objects to Secure Structure: Does the structure stand without support from wood, boxes, plastics or tin etc.
