The annual Baden Community Barbecue drew over 150 hungry residents to Sir Adam Beck Park last night for a meal of grilled pork chops, burgers, salads, corn and dessert. The Baden Chamber of Commerce event is supported by a number of local businesses including Egli’s Meat Market, Baden Coffee, Stop 2 Shop, One Way Water, Teddy’s Bakery and Herrle’s Country Farm Market. Erb Transport supplied a refrigerated truck and volunteers from Kitchener-Conestoga MP Harold Albrecht’s office helped set up and serve guests. The Chamber has been going for 51 years and the community barbecue has been an annual event for about half that time. Proceeds from the barbecue help cover the costs of hosting other Chamber events like the annual Santa Claus Parade.
