Tim Hortons put a happy-face on its cookies, then passed it on to a local charity. The company presented a $4,620 cheque today from its “Smile Cookie” to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre.
The campaign ran between Sept. 20 and Sept. 26 at the Tim Hortons stores in New Hamburg, Baden, and Tavistock. The stories sold 4,620 cookies for $1, compared to 4,200 last year and 3,780 in 2008. All proceeds from the cookies were donated to the centre.
The Wilmot Family Resource centre promotes the well-being of local people and families with a food bank, educational services, and recreation programs.
